Shavkat Mirziyoyev urged restraint and a return to dialogue amid tensions in the Middle East during a phone call with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, the Uzbek presidential press service reported.
The call took place on 24 July. At the start of the conversation, Pezeshkian congratulated Mirziyoyev on his birthday and wished him good health and success in public service.
The two sides agreed to continue developing relations between Uzbekistan and Iran. They highlighted cooperation in trade, investment, transport and cultural and humanitarian ties.
The presidents also exchanged views on other items on the agenda. The official statement did not announce specific new agreements or timelines for joint projects.
