Environmental raids in Tashkent and the surrounding region resulted in 48 administrative reports, the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change reported.

The fines imposed totalled 316.3 million Uzbek soum. Inspections took place in the Yukorichirchik, Kuyichirchik, Zangiata and Kibray districts of Tashkent region, as well as the Yangihayot, Yunusabad and Sergeli districts of the capital.

Inspectors documented vehicles transporting and dumping construction waste outside designated disposal sites. The committee classifies such actions as breaches of environmental law.

Officials also identified a driver who, according to the committee, had committed another illegal-dumping violation within a year. Documents in that case are being prepared for referral to law-enforcement agencies.

The committee warned that unauthorised waste dumping damages the sanitary and environmental condition of affected areas and carries penalties under the law.

The Environmental Police plans to continue the inspections on a permanent basis in all regions of Uzbekistan.
