Al-Nassr lost 2–1 to Benfica B in their first friendly of the summer training camp, according to Al-Riyadiya.
The match was played at one of the Portuguese club’s grounds in Lisbon. The teams played two 30-minute halves for a total of 60 minutes.
Midfielder Abdulmalik Al-Jaber opened the scoring in the fourth minute and registered Al-Nassr’s only goal. New head coach Ange Postecoglou used 16 players, including five introduced in the second half.
The Saudi club travelled to Portugal for the second stage of its preparations for the new season. Three more friendlies are scheduled during the camp:
- against Spain’s Merida on 28 July;
- against Portugal’s Estrela Amadora on 1 August;
- against Spain’s Almeria on 4 August.
