Two pieces of a substance described as hashish, weighing 1 kg in total, were found in the trunk of a Tracker-2 in Buvayda district, the Fergana regional police reported.
The operation was carried out by Kokand city police and the State Security Service. The vehicle, driven by a Yangikurgan resident born in 1986 and identified by the initials Sh. T., was stopped and searched in the presence of witnesses; the substance was seized as evidence.
According to the inquiry, a Kushtepa district resident born in 1982 and identified by the initials M. A. had given the substance to be transported. Police said she was also detained.
A criminal case was opened under point “a” of Part 6 of Article 273 of the Criminal Code. The preliminary investigation is continuing.
