Prosecutors to review roughly 500 missing museum objects in Kokand and 16 in Syrdarya

The inventory materials were sent to prosecutors for legal assessment and appropriate action.

An inventory found roughly 500 objects missing from the Kokand State Museum-Reserve and its branches, according to the Uzbekistan Cultural Heritage Agency.

The review covered the museum-reserve’s main collection and its branches, including the Gafur Gulom Literary Museum.

At the Syrdarya Regional Museum of History and Culture, the inventory recorded another 16 objects as missing.

The inventory materials were sent to prosecution authorities for legal assessment and appropriate action.

The inventory is being carried out in phases under Presidential Resolution No. PP-261 and joint Cabinet of Ministers–Prosecutor General’s Office Protocol No. 65 dated July 16, 2022.
