Uzbekistan is introducing a concessional financing mechanism for the poultry industry, with loans planned at an annual rate of 10% for terms of up to ten years.

Funding from the Fund for Reconstruction and Development will be channelled through Microcreditbank. Poultry farms, animal-feed producers and certain turnkey business projects will be eligible.

The main loan terms are:

  • an annual interest rate of 10%;
  • a term of up to ten years;
  • a grace period of up to four years.

From 1 August, financing is due to become available for projects launching new poultry-production capacity and for turnkey business projects implemented under Presidential Resolution No. PP-238 of 27 June 2024.

From 1 September, loans on these terms are planned to cover poultry farms, poultry-feed producers and turnkey business projects.

The lower rate will not be applied retroactively to existing borrowing: the mechanism is intended for new loan agreements.

The bank will determine applicant requirements, the list of documents and project-selection criteria under its established procedures.
