Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna said Kevin De Bruyne remains an important part of the club's project and is expected to return from injury, the Italian club reported.
Manna said the Belgian midfielder's contract runs for two years and includes an option for a third season.
Kevin joined this project for two years, with an option for a third. He is an important player who contributed a great deal until he was injured. He had a difficult season, but he will return and give his maximum contribution to the coach and the team — Giovanni Manna, Napoli sporting director
Manna also said head coach Massimiliano Allegri is highly motivated and works closely with the sporting department. The club will wait for its internationals to return before making further squad decisions.
Napoli believe the current squad is strong enough to compete in every tournament. The club nevertheless plans targeted additions and wants to restore financial balance after higher spending over the previous two seasons.
