Law-enforcement agencies have stopped two suspected drug-trafficking cases in Uzbekistan’s Khorezm and Namangan regions.
In Urgench district, officers from the State Security Service, internal affairs agencies and customs detained a 26-year-old man as he received a parcel delivered from Russia.
The officers found 967 grams of hashish hidden in ten chocolate packages. The substance was seized as evidence.
In Yangikurgan district, authorities found 423 cannabis plants on land belonging to a 38-year-old local resident. Investigators allege the plants were being grown for sale.
