Employers in Uzbekistan posted more than 34,000 active vacancies in the second quarter of 2026, with an average of 18 résumés submitted for each opening.

Almost 82% of all vacancies were concentrated in Tashkent. Samarkand and Fergana ranked next by the number of openings.

Employers showed the strongest demand across several broad areas:

  • sales and customer service;
  • information technology, finance and manufacturing;
  • retail, transport, logistics and the automotive business;
  • marketing and public relations, tourism and the beauty industry.

Demand grew fastest for security specialists, lawyers, managers, manufacturing employees and skilled and manual workers.

The average salary offered during the quarter was 6.5 million Uzbek soum, slightly above the level recorded a year earlier. Competition was highest in security, transport and logistics, domestic work, manual occupations, and strategy and consulting.

Across the rest of Central Asia, employers are also actively recruiting for sales, construction, industry, logistics, education, healthcare, IT, energy and hospitality.

A shortage of qualified workers remains a shared challenge across the region. Specialists with digital skills, foreign-language proficiency and a commitment to continued training are expected to have the strongest prospects.
